We make sure everything's accounted for.
Filing your income taxes can range from straightforward to complicated depending on a large variety of factors. It's understandable why people seek out experts to help ensure that they file accurately to avoid financial issues with the IRS.
We are happy to assist people from all backgrounds with filing their yearly income tax. Whether you're a single filer with no withholding or a married, small business owner with children, there's no tax filing that's too small or too complicated for us to handle.
We’ll do everything we can to help you save, but whether you get a refund really depends on your unique situation. The amount of federal income tax you owe is based on your total income, your filing status (like single or married), and a handful of other factors the IRS takes into account each year.
Everyone falls into a tax bracket, which adjusts a bit each filing season. For example, in 2020, someone filing as single and earning between $39,476 and $84,200 would fall into the 22% tax bracket.
When I prepare your return, I’ll calculate your adjusted gross income (AGI) after applying all the deductions you qualify for. From there, we determine your final tax responsibility. You’ll only get a refund if you’ve paid more into the system during the year than what you actually owed—usually through paycheck withholdings. Unless you’ve chosen to withhold extra, most people do see some kind of refund.
What you’ll need to file your taxes really depends on your personal situation. If you're single, employed, and not a homeowner, filing might be as simple as reporting your W-2. But let’s be honest—most of us don’t fit into that kind of box.
The IRS expects you to report all sources of income—whether it's from your job, rental properties, retirement, gambling, royalties, or even a small trust. And while that might sound overwhelming, it also opens the door to deductions you do qualify for—like student loan interest, mortgage payments, charitable giving, medical insurance, vehicle sales tax, and retirement contributions, just to name a few.
Figuring out what counts as taxable income—and what could actually save you money—can get confusing fast. That’s where I come in. At KH Business Services, I make it simple, walk you through exactly what’s needed, and take care of the behind-the-scenes work so you don’t have to stress about it.
